Your First Orthopedic Visit

A productive first visit starts with the right information. Bring the details that help connect your symptoms, imaging, prior treatment, and goals into one clear plan.

What to bring

  • Photo ID and insurance information
  • Medication list, allergies, and relevant medical history
  • Prior operative reports or clinic notes if this is a second opinion
  • A short list of your main questions and goals

Imaging and prior records

  • Bring MRI or CT discs when available, not only the written report
  • Bring recent X-rays or imaging reports if they were done elsewhere
  • If you are not sure what is needed, contact the office before the appointment

What happens during the visit

  • Dr. Fisher will review your story, examine the affected area, and connect symptoms with imaging
  • You will discuss reasonable options, including nonsurgical care when appropriate
  • The goal is a clear next step, not pressure toward a procedure

Treatment planning

  • Some patients need therapy, injections, imaging, or time
  • Some injuries need surgery or urgent follow-up
  • Your plan should reflect your diagnosis, goals, health, and recovery expectations

Important note

Patient resources are educational. Always follow the specific instructions you received from Dr. Fisher, your surgical team, and your physical therapist. For urgent symptoms or emergencies, call 911 or seek emergency care.
